Editorial correction: The earlier version presented named affiliate success stories without supporting records. Those stories and unverified earnings figures have been removed. This revision is general guidance, not a report of verified affiliate results.
Affiliate marketing creates a financial relationship between a publisher and a provider. Readers should be able to understand that relationship before deciding how much weight to give a recommendation.
Disclose the incentive clearly
If a publisher can be paid for a referral or purchase, that connection belongs near the relevant recommendation or link, in plain language. A policy page alone is not a substitute for a clear disclosure where the reader encounters the promotion. See the FTC’s guidance on endorsements and material connections.
Do not invent experiences or outcomes
First-person reviews should describe experiences that actually occurred. A hypothetical example must be labelled as hypothetical. Do not present generated portraits, fictional customers, invented quotations, or unverified income figures as evidence of success.
A provider’s own description should be attributed to the provider. If a service has not been tested independently, say so. A commission is not evidence of quality or psychic accuracy.
Compare observable details
- Explain the session format and the source of the information.
- Check price and offer terms before publishing time-sensitive figures.
- Make cancellation, refund, and billing conditions easy to find.
- State which providers were included and what was not assessed.
- Keep commercial incentives separate from claims of scientific or professional authority.
Avoid pressure aimed at vulnerable readers
Do not use grief, fear, relationship insecurity, or health concerns to create urgency. Claims of guaranteed reunions, cures, curse removal, or certain financial outcomes are not appropriate grounds for a recommendation.
Repeat bookings should not be presented as proof that a service works. Readers should feel free to decline a purchase, seek qualified support, or stop using a service.
No earnings promise
This article does not forecast affiliate income or endorse a current commission rate. Program terms change, and results vary. Review a provider’s official terms and your applicable obligations before entering an agreement.
